Planned Parenthood’s Connection

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a billion dollar a year corporation, taking in 1.0381 billion in revenues in the fiscal year ending 6/30/08

36% of all PPFA’s revenues come from clinical income, including abortion services.

Planned Parenthood is the leading provider of abortions, and is responsible for more than a quarter of U.S. abortions every year.

While abortions in the U.S. dropped as a whole from 1990-2007, abortions performed at PPFA clinics during the same time frame increased by 236%

In 2007 abortions outnumbered adoption referrals  by greater than a 62 to one margin at PPFA.

Margaret Sanger, founder of the series of groups that became PPFA, declared in her book Pivot of Civilization, “…we are paying for and even submitting to the dictates of an ever increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all…” While the modern PPFA has abandoned some of Sanger’s more offensive language, the group’s current policies and activities do not present any obvious departure from its founder’s original aims. Today PPFA identifies one of its “core clients,” as “young women, low-income women, and women of color,” – National Right to Life

Sanger, was also a proponent of “race hygiene” through “negative eugenics,” an attempt to reduce the fertility of “dysgenic” groups, in the early 20th century. In 1921, she said eugenics is “the most adequate and thorough avenue to the solution of racial, political and social problems, and the ever increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.” She also cautioned, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.” – Life Site News 2/28/08

In 2008, UCLA’s pro-life student magazine, The Advocate, revealed an undercover investigation in which representatives of Planned Parenthood enthusiastically accepted financial donations targeting the abortion of an unborn black baby for racist motives. Lila Rose, editor of The Advocate, taped responses of Planned Parenthood officials from seven states that reveal the eugenic character of their ideology. –– Life Site News 2/28/08
